I grew up on the lakeshore of Onekama, Michigan, a town so small it's technically classified as a village.

With a graduating class of only thirty-two, I spent so much of my time fantasizing about a bigger life. Some of those fantasies were of travel, adventure, and romance, but many of them were the fictional stories I had in my head.

At the University of Michigan, I minored in creative writing. Afterwards, I worked in a variety of industries, including professional baseball, a consumer electronics brand, the parent of an aviation company, and am currently under contract as a Safety Engineer in Antarctica.
