Ian, hopeless asshole that he was, got caught staring into Darius's dark eyes with their near-infinity shades of brown. His face had aged. Two thin lines on his forehead now permanently etched on. Scruff he’d never been able to grow now evenly distributed across his jaw and around his permanently chewed upon lower lip. Two small gray patches on his chin made the bastard look distinguished.
They'd lived a lifetime apart. They'd only had one year together. That realization burned like fire through Ian, because despite the decade-plus between them, he saw the same want dancing in Darius' eyes as he had all those years ago.
Ian shoved him away instead, because if he didn't, he was going to kiss him.
